Less than two months after celebrating its grand opening, Sterling Estates of West Cobb announced the next phase of construction on its 25 acre senior living neighborhood community.
The new construction started Nov. 1.
The initial phase opened at 3165 Dallas Highway in Marietta with 16 independent cottages and garden homes, and 21 independent apartments.
Like Sterling Estates of east Cobb, which opened in 2012, the west Cobb community has independent living cottages, garden homes and apartments in a classic neighborhood setting with walking paths, landscaped courtyards and pocket parks. When fully built out, the neighborhood will have 50-plus cottages and garden homes and 42 one- and two-bedroom apartments.
An independent living clubhouse will also be built in the future phase.
In addition to independent living, the community has a main living residence with 90 living units, licensed as assisted living providing studio, one- and two-bedroom suites. This main residence, The Landmark, is now open with a variety of special features including dining venues such as The Sterling Grill and The Sterling Way Wellness Center with an indoor heated saltwater aerobics pool.
All but two of the existing cottages and garden homes are rented.
“Based on the successful reception by the marketplace of our cottages and neighborhood lifestyle, we have decided to move up our construction schedule for additional residences,” said Mike Brown, managing partner, Sterling Estates West Cobb.
